Porridge and Book Reading at Barnsole Infant School in Gillingham

March 20, 2015

Barnsole1

A wonderfully warm reception at Barnsole Infant School in Gillingham yesterday when I arrived with my local Ward colleague Councillor Wendy Purdy to see the free porridge initiative led by School Caterers Chartwell.

It also coincided with the schools science day and we were able to join pupils enjoying scientific games and puzzles in the main hall.

I couldn’t resist having a go at the bread making and also preparing the school lunch!

Whilst there I also had the opportunity of reading a book with a group of young pupils.

A great morning with Hospital Radio Medway

March 14, 2015

Hospital Radio

I enjoyed a great time at Hospital Radio Medway  this morning where I was interviewed by local DJ Alan Hardy who was on duty with his wife Helen.

Alan asked me about my life in general and Medway Council, Policing and local politics in particular.

Helen also scoured the vaults of records to find two of my favourite Credance Clearwater Revival songs.

Thank you to all at Hospital Radio Medway for the fantastic voluntary work that you do in keeping Medway Hospital patients informed and entertained.

I am photographed above with Helen and Alan.

I have been associated with the Association for over five years now and it was a fantastic meeting discussing the exciting strategies that they have for the future of our community.

The Association carries out tremendous work and fellowship with their Hindu colleagues and works very closely with the Medway Ethnic Minority Forum.
