I meet the fantastic Year 8’s from The Howard School at Gillingham Football Club

I had the opportunity of calling in to the second day of a two day course for Boys from Year 8 at the Howard School this morning at Gillingham Football Club.

They were all volunteers to be Ambassadors offering support to their peers to help ensure that they didn’t start smoking.

The programme is commissioned by Medway Council but delivered by theĀ Medway Youth Trust

Enthusiastic and wonderfully behaved, they were a credit to themselves, their School, their families and Medway in general.

In the photograph above I am joined by my colleague the Portfolio Holder for Adult Health Councillor David Brake and the Director of Public Health Dr Alison Barnett.

It was great to join in with the activities and to have the opportunity of meeting and talking to the pupils.
