A fond farewell to a much loved School Manager at Byron Primary in Gillingham

ByronPrimaryI had the privilege of joining the Acting Head Teacher Jon Carthy, staff and pupils at the Byron Primary School Assembly this morning to say a fond farewell to the Office Manager Mrs Carolyn Collins who was retiring today after 35 years service to the school.

Also present was the Vice-Chair of Governors Lillian Gould representing the Governing Body.

The pupils sang songs and read poems to give her a warm send off to retirement where she plans to spend more time with her husband and family and to bake cakes!

As I reminded Carolyn this morning, she started virtually at the same time that I was elected on to Gillingham Borough Council and Kent County Council and hers was a familiar face whenever I visited the school.

She will be sadly missed but I know she will retire with many happy memories of her time at the school when some 3000 pupils have passed through her hands!

A happy and healthy retirement Carolyn.
