A great day at the Festival of Cultures

Along with the Mayor and Mayoress of Medway Councillor  Barry Kemp and Mrs Joyce Kemp I spent a fantastic few hours at the Festival of Cultures at Chatham Riverside last week.

Blessed with a warm and dry day the Festival , organised by the Medway Ethnic Minority Forum, was attended by Partners and Community Croups from around the Authority.

Previously, the Festival was held at Gillingham Park but I thought that Chatham Riverside was an excellent choice and showed the full diversity of cultures that we enjoy here in Medway.

The formal opening was carried out by the Mayor and I am photographed above with the Mayor and Mayoress, the President of the Medway Ethnic Minority Forum Mrs Priti Joshi and MEMF opening the Festival devoted to young people.

Cream on the cake was winning a ticket to a Gillingham Football Club game in the raffle!

Below are some photographs of the day which included dancing, food and music.

My congratulations to the Medway Ethnic Minority Forum for a fantastic day.
