Jo Shiner

I had the pleasure of meeting our new Assistant Chief Constable Jo Shiner today.

Mrs Shiner was appointed on the 8th May and  is responsible for a portfolio in Kent which includes critical incidents, initial crime investigations, special branch, frontier operations and roads policing.

Mrs Shiner, 42, has 21 years of policing service, and has held a wide range of operational roles since joining Norfolk Constabulary in 1993 as a student officer. She has led teams in territorial policing, CID, and human resources, and recently headed up a Vulnerability, Partnerships and Control Room Directorate.  Jo also led a variety of business areas at strategic level for Norfolk, including the protection of vulnerable people within communities, and has been a tactical and strategic firearms commander for the past ten years.

Jo lives with her husband and is actively involved with charity work in her local community.

Information is taken from and can be found on the Kent Police website
