My visit to the Young Lives Foundation in Maidstone today.

I had a great visit to The Young Lives Foundation in Maidstone today. The reason for my visit was that they work with our Medway Looked After Children’s Children in Care Council.

I spent some time discussing the work of the YLF with the Chief Executive Officer  Stephen Gray and the Medway Challenger Coordinator Holly Read with whom I am photographed above.

Stephen showed me around their base and introduced me to the team.

This is their History, taken from their website:

The Young Lives Foundation has a proud history of providing services for children and young people in need since 1987. Previously this was provided by the Young People in Need Division of the Council for Social Responsibility / Church in Society.

On 1st July 2007, all services provided within the Young People in Need Division were transferred to a new organisation – The Young Lives Foundation (YLF). YLF was established as a new Independent Children’s Charity in order that we could make a difference to more young people on a much wider scale.

Since the Young Lives Foundation was established, further services have been developed and the transferred services have been enhanced. All our services have been developed as new and innovative ways of responding to young people’s needs.

The Chairman of the YLF is the well known and respected Property Auctioneer Clive Emson.
