News from Medway Council website

Two of Medway’s schools have achieved their best A Level results attained by sixth form students.

The long, anxious wait was finally over for the students who found out how they had done today, Thursday, 15 August.

The Howard School in Rainham achieved its best ever results, with more students achieving A and A* grades. Students were also celebrating at St John Fisher Catholic School in Chatham, which also saw its best ever results, continuing a four-year improvement trend.

Medway Council’s Lead Portfolio holder for Children’s Services Cllr Mike O’Brien said: “A Level results day is an exciting, but also an anxious time for all students and their families.

“I know students work incredibly hard to achieve at key stage 5 and I am delighted that their dedication has paid off.

“I would like to congratulate all of our students, their families and staff for all their achievements and hard work this year.

“Over the coming weeks and months all those that have received their results today will be moving on to the next stage in their careers and I’d like to wish each and every one of Medway’s students every success in whichever path they choose”.

For those students who are in need of extra support and guidance, further information is available from tutors and at Medway Youth Trust (MYT). Parents and students can phone the results freephone helpline on 0800 046 7603 or Text MYTResults to 88020 from Thursday, 15 to Saturday 17 August between 11am and 7pm. Information and details of drop in centres for advice can also be found

Students are urged to contact admissions teams at colleges and universities if their results do not meet the conditional offer grades to discuss whether they can be accepted on to the course or be offered an alternative.

For anyone who is reading this, I STRONGLY recommend not going to The Howard School, because I used to go there when I was doing my GCSE’s,they weren’t the best grades but surprisingly, they were good enough to get me into a sixth form far better that this one, point is, Howard dosen’t offer a wide range of a levels ( more btecs than a levels) the place always looks like a complete s**t rubbish everywhere and sticky stuff whenever you walk up and down the stairs, some of the teaching is good(like maths) but the teaching their is “satisfactory” they don’t encourage you to do well, and most of the time, there’s quite a lot of bullying, this is only a “one-off” students hardly get good grades naturally,

From looking at your Twitter account is appears that you were at the school some years ago.
There have been tremendous year on year improvements at the Howard School for Boys, culminating in excellent results for A Level and GCSE this year.
The boys are a credit to the school and to Medway.
