Medway is a fantastic place in which to live!

Not my words but those of the winners of last nights Pride in Medway Awards Matt and Caroline Loughrey.

The couple, of St Mary’s Island Chatham Maritime launched the Embo campaign – named after the nickname for their 22 year old daughter Emily who sadly died of cancer in 2007.

Their initial aim was to raise £20,000 for CLIC Sargent, the charity which had provided help and support to Emily, as well as Matt, Caroline and younger daughter Jessica, who told me last night that she intends taking part in this years Marathon.

Matt and Caroline have carried out numerous differing events to raise money and have so far raised some £86,000.

They are , as their nomination said, truly inspiring people.
