North Division Commanders Award Ceremony

I was privileged to attend the North Kent Divisional Commanders Award Ceremony at North Kent Police Station last night.

The award ceremony was hosted by Chief Supt Neil Jerome.

Also in attendance was Chatham and Aylesford MP Tracey Crouch, and the Mayors of Medway, Dartford and Gravesham.

The leaders of Gravesham  Cllr John Burden and Dartford Cllr Jeremy Kyte MBE were also in attendance.

Listening to the tales of bravery and dedication to service by Police Officers, Special Police Offices, PCSO’s and Civilians was awe inspiring and made me realise just what a fantastic job our Kent Police carry out protecting our community.

I was particularly proud to present our new Medway Community Partnership Shield for the first time to PC James Read. (Photo to follow).

I emphasised the pride that I felt in the tremendous partnership working between Medway Council and Kent and Medway Police. Working with our front line services , Environmental Health and our Community Officers they have played a major part in reducing anti social behaviour in Medway.

I was also pleased to see our very own PCSO Sean Brooks presented with his Divisional Commanders Certificate of Merit.

PCSO Brooks, whilst serving in Rainham Central last Summer led a tennis school over the summer holiday period at

Rainham School for Girls. This played a significant part in driving down anti social behaviour in Rainham Central.

PCSO Brooks now serves in the Wigmore and Hempstead Ward.

Chief Supt Jerome also presented the first Jubilee Medals to serving Police Officers.

Photograph shows me with PCSO Brooks and his Divisional Commanders Certificate of Merit Award.
